Romantic Samara

The city of Samara is an industrial, rational giant. But despite the cold concrete dominating the city, many people feel great here. They see the beauty of this city, they fall in love, they live. The project shows the city through emotional experience of people.

More than 100 images of the random city objects and places were taken and printed in small 5×5 cm images. The exhibition invited the audience to remember some romantic event or experience that took place in this city. Then they had to pick a photo and pin it to a large map of the city in a place where it all happened thus creating new emotional map. 

They also were offered to describe their story on a special sheet.

As a result, the changed map and stories written by real people merged into a transparent layer of good and bright feelings covering the old map of the city.
